Instructions for downloading the SMARTaudiometer update
NOTE: if you are updating from a release older than 3.9 you must reinstall the program (see below). This update will NOT work.
If SMARTaudiometer is installed on a different computer than the one you have connect to the Internet
Put an empty but formatted floppy disk, or other removable media such as a flash disk, in this computer.
In the "Save As" window (during the next step) select the media you are using.
Download EACH of the files by clicking on the following links: Download program file Download ref file Download help file Be sure to download ALL of these files.
Move the media to the target computer.
Using My Computer go the media and copy the downloaded files to the My Computer\C:\Program Files\SMARTaudiometer folder.
If they are the same computer
Set the "Save As" window (next step) to the My Computer\C:\Program Files\SMARTaudiometer folder.
Download EACH of the files by clicking on the following links: Download program file Download ref file Download help file Be sure to download ALL of these files.
After updating, start up the SMARTaudiometer program and verify that the release number at the top of the screen matches the one shown above. Press F1 to open the Help system and go the What's New to learn about changes or feature additions that have been made.
Instructions for downloading the SMARTaudiometer reinstall files
Put an empty CD-RW, DVD-RW, or flash disk in this computer. If this is the target computer you can use a temporary folder for the following steps.
In the "Save As" window (during the next step) select the media drive you are using.
Download the self-extracting ZIP file by clicking on the following link: Download file
Move the media to the target computer, if different.
If SMART audiometer has previously been installed on the target computer you MUST uninstall the previous version by going to Control Panel:Add/Remove Programs. Be sure you start the SMARTaudiometer program and Save User Files before you uninstall.
Using My Computer, go to the location where you downloaded the reinstall file and double-click on it (Install-Aud.exe). Follow the steps to extract the 3 files.
NOTE: the files you have just extracted can be put on a CD or flash drive as a field backup.
Next double-click on setup.exe to install. From a CD or flash drive you could also use Control Panel:Add/Remove Programs to install the program.
If you have a User Files Backup disk from a previous installation, start the SMARTaudiometer program and Restore User Files.
Check that the version is the same as at the top of this page. If not then follow the steps in the section above to get the latest version.
